ARE YOU READY??

I am going to Florida soon...like this Wednesday. Am I ready? FO SHOOOO! Well, for the most part anyhow. There are a couple people I will be very happy to see. And it is true that I am in need of some of those amazing group devotionals. Really I just want to feel that feeling, teach those teachings.

"We look with expectant eyes to the day when teaching is the dominating passion in the life of every believer and when the unity of the community is so strong as to enable this state of enkindlement to express itself in unremitting action in the field of service. This, then, is our ardent hope for you and the object of our most fervent prayers at the Sacred Threshold."

I Dare you to Eat that Whole Lemon.

"I'm driving around in my car
I'm driving too fast
I'm driving too far
I'd like to change my point of view
I feel so lonely
I'm waiting for you
But nothing ever happens and I wonder...

I wonder how
I wonder why
Yesterday you told me 'bout the blue blue sky
And all that I can see is just a yellow lemon-tree
I'm turning my head up and down
I'm turning turning turning turning turning around
And all that I can see is just another lemon-tree"

Lately I enjoy listening to this song over and over again. And singing. I think this would be a really good song to sing while you're running in the rain, singing it really loud...like practically screaming it. In a happy and joyous way. You know what I mean?

The day is hot, drenched in heat
The sun is close to setting
Bringing with it closure, darkness...

I run to catch up.

Leaving behind dull, unworthy motion
Preparing for unmet trials
With the sound of Mana running through
My movements

Between these days
I retrieve myself...
My love of Prayer
Of Simplicity.

"Set before thine eyes God's unerring Balance and, as one standing in His Presence, weigh in that Balance thine actions every day, every moment of thy life."

The Mango Frenzy.

Four cool compadres feel in need of a refreshing drink after the typical day's gorging of masala, chicken, and masala con chicken. Please. No more masala. PUNJABI LASSI I say. No...too risky. Ok down to two...mango lassi or mango milkshake (note: Lassi's contain yogurt while milkshakes contain milk, both drinks contain mango). Ok I say, I'll get the Lassi, you get the Milkshake. Knowing as I did that you can't go wrong with a milkshake, I decided to sacrifice myself in taste testing the mysterious concoction so named LA MANGO LASSI (note #2: the drink is actually not of Mexican origin but that of Indian cuisine). Perfect solution I think...my lovely little friend gets the certainty of having a delicious drink and the other two compadres can learn from my experience.

Outcome:
Mango Lassis are superb.
Mango Milkshakes ruin your stomach, and your day.

Lesson learned: Putting Mango in something does not automatically make it delicious.

Take me to the Prayer Garden...

Let thy soul glow with the flame of this undying Fire that burneth in the midmost heart of the world, in such wise that the waters of the universe shall be powerless to cool down its ardor.

Regretfully they Tell us, but Firmly they Compel us...

The fact was presented to me just yesterday that only forty days remain until the end...of it all. A long or short amount of time depending on what you compare it to. To me, this is fantastic news most definitely. Yet, I keep thinking back to Bio class last week and Dr. James' attempts to motivate us, and a saying about times of famine in Africa. It went something like this..."the hunger bites hardest right before the end."
A good representation of the feeling many students now have, when it seems that all the hours of studying and sleepless nights will soon result in your own death...or maybe just in nights of constant pranks and paranoia, of running through the halls in spy disguise, and of laughing when nothing, but everything, is funny.
Its a good saying to keep in mind, to help you make the best of the last and reflect on the knowledge this stage of life has brought. Whether or not you appreciated it before...you know it has been a beneficial step in your own personal progress.

"Through effort and perseverance perfections can be acquired."

Naw Ruz!

"Let all eyes rejoice, and let every ear be gladdened, for now is the time to gaze on His beauty, now is the fit time to hearken to His voice. Proclaim unto every longing lover: "Behold, your Well-Beloved hath come among men!" and to the messengers of the Monarch of love impart the tidings:"Lo, the Adored One hath appeared arrayed in the fullness of His glory!" O lovers of His Beauty! Turn the anguish of your separation from Him into the joy of an everlasting reunion, and let the sweetness of His presence dissolve the bitterness of your remoteness from His court."

It's really quite amazing to start off the day reading the Writings...and becoming so happy by the inspiration of it that you can't help but walk around smiling. I think its pretty impossible to have a bad day after that. You can take anything that comes your way! badabam!...and smash it to the ground like no matter = ). And the only thing you really want to do is be happy and tell everybody what you've just read about...so they can be happy with you. And then you can sing about it...because what better thing is there to do when youre happy than sing? I think nothing.

So today is Naw Ruz, very perfect. I can tell its spring because of the bazillion bees that are currently circling around our house ready to attack lol. And also the smell of honeysuckles! que bueno!...i love it.

Half One Color and Half Another

The moment I handed in my chemistry final will probably go down in history as one of the happiest moments of my life. lol. I'm done yo! So now, with my two hardest exams out of the way...life is back to its usual sweetness. The week of happiness (aka spring break) is approaching. I refuse to do any work over the break! Let them try to give me something to study, this is what I'll do...spit on it. and them. the end.

...just kidding that would be rude.

I found this old journal of mine from a couple years ago and started reading some of the entries. I found this description of a dream that I had that I don't even remember having or writing about, but I think it's kind of interesting...

"There was music playing, there were groups of people. Some were blue, others were orange but then they would come together and be half one color and half another color. Their was a feeling that they had found something. (I don't know how to explain) It was like the people were lost before and these people were helping all the groups mix together."

"Aid me, O my Lord, to surrender myself wholly to Thy Will, and to arise and serve Thee, for I cherish this earthly life for no other purpose than to compass the Tabernacle of Thy Revelation and the Seat of Glory."

Toy Story Lyrics and the Past Week.

"I was on top of the world
it was right in my pocket
I was living the life
things were just the way they should be
When from out of the sky like a bomb comes some little punk in a rocket
now all of a sudden some strange things are happening to me..."

Chile Here I come!

Ok so most likely I won't be going to Chile....but a girl can dream right? Even though its such a far off idea I can't stop thinking about it for some reason. Probably because it would be AMAZING! Yes definitely, I can picture the sweetness already. I kind of like this feeling of not knowing where I'm going to be for the next couple years...or even the next couple months really. It is lovely, like you're free from the world...and just letting God direct you where to go. And while there are so many things that could go wrong, so many things to be worried about, I have complete faith that everything will be as it should be. The more tests the better right?

"O SON OF MAN!
Rejoice in the gladness of thine heart, that thou mayest be worthy to meet Me and to mirror forth My beauty."

"O SON OF MAN!
Put they hand into My bosom, that I may rise above thee, radiant and resplendent."

Breathing hard, you've finished the run
Intensive study and now you're done

No medal of honor for this race
No nobel prize to put in place

For today you simply didn't win
Or find invention in the end

Yet triumph lies within your gaze
And many victories throughout the days

For only the highest reward you yearn
And the highest knowledge you seek to learn

It is this that keeps you going
That keeps the inspiration flowing

Of One Whose essence brings you light
Of One Whose nearness gives you sight

Who forever lives beyond
And makes the morning light to dawn

In Him you put your faith, your trust
To lift you from this realm of dust

So day by day your soul may grow
And in return you may bestow

A rose of love unto all men
And show the path away from sin

That all may live in peace today
To wish to shout, to sing, to say

Allah'u'abha!
Allah'u'abha!

This is a glorious day!

O SON OF THE SUPREME!
I have made death a messenger of joy to thee. Wherefore dost thou grieve? I made the light to shed on thee its splendor. Why dost thou veil thyself therefrom?

(Baha'u'llah, The Arabic Hidden Words)

O SON OF MAN!
Thou art My dominion and My dominion perisheth not; wherefore fearest thou thy perishing? Thou art My light and My light shall never be extinguished; why dost thou dread extinction? Thou art My glory and My glory fadeth not; thou art My robe and My robe shall never be outworn. Abide then in thy love for Me, that thou mayest find Me in the realm of glory.

The Valley of Wonderment

"After journeying through the planes of pure contentment, the traveler cometh to THE VALLEY OF WONDERMENT and is tossed in the oceans of grandeur, and at every moment his wonder groweth. Now he seeth the shape of wealth as poverty itself, and the essence of freedom as sheer impotence.  32

Now is he struck dumb with the beauty of the All-Glorious; again is he wearied out with his own life. How many a mystic tree hath this whirlwind of wonderment snatched by the roots, how many a soul hath it exhausted. For in this Valley the traveler is flung into confusion, albeit, in the eye of him who hath attained, such marvels are esteemed and well beloved. At every moment he beholdeth a wondrous world, a new creation, and goeth from astonishment to astonishment, and is lost in awe at the works of the Lord of Oneness.

Indeed, O Brother, if we ponder each created thing, we shall witness a myriad perfect wisdoms and learn a myriad new and wondrous truths. One of the created phenomena is the dream. Behold how many secrets are deposited therein, how many wisdoms treasured up, how many worlds concealed. Observe, how thou art asleep in a dwelling, and its doors are barred; on a sudden thou findest thyself in a far-off city, which thou enterest without moving thy feet or wearying thy body; without using thine eyes, thou seest; without taxing thine ears, thou hearest; without a tongue, thou speakest. And perchance when ten years are gone, thou wilt witness in the outer world the very things thou hast dreamed tonight."

I have had this blasted song stuck in my head for at least three days.

"One day I'll fly away
Leave all this to yesterday
What more could your love do for me
When will love be through with me
Why live life from dream to dream
And dread the day when dreaming ends..."

A SPLENDID Week Indeed.

Melanie and Munib's wedding was, I have to say, perfect. I am really not exaggerating...I can find no fault with it badabam! The weather might have been a little nicer, but with so many happy people there it didn't even seem to matter! But seriously...everyone was incredibly happy. I LOOOOVED IT. I can't say it enough! haha. I keep wanting to talk about how lovely it was to people at school, even though I know they probably don't really care that much. Anna has probably recieved the worst of my talking about it. Ha! sorry mi amor.
The wedding was definitely wonderful and also the whole week in Miami at his family's house. I love the Rezaie family! I can never thank them enough for their incredible kindness and generosity. Now I have a new brother and two new sisters! craaaaaazaaay. Only three weeks until the december project...life is good.

O SON OF SPIRIT!
With the joyful tidings of light I hail thee: rejoice! To the court of holiness I summon thee; abide therein that thou mayest live in peace for evermore.

Tutoring at George Hall was very nice, It reminded me of the PBadi days. I am counting down the days until we get through finals...and until I get to see some juicy joonams of course.

Next weekend...Kevin Locke performance and Royal Falcon Baha'i School. Be there or be square. I can't wait because I have really really been wanting to see him perform, and also I'm in need of some spiritual rejuvenation myself. ASMS can be draining, I try not to let if affect me. I've almost learned a new prayer in espanol! que bueno indeed =)

Que bueno!

Every once in a while I suddenly remember that Melanie, Melanie as in my sister Melanie, is getting married...in November!...To Spiderman! I think life is very lovely indeed. INDEED! =D
So check it out...two more weeks of craaazay ASMS classes, then finals week, then a week of intensive Meteor shower studying with Dr. Quintana........and then....*drum roll*....THANKSGIVING BREAK! which, I am thinking, will be... NO DOUBT ABOUT IT, A very fabulous break. How could it not be?! Let's think about it.

"O MAN OF TWO VISIONS!
Close one eye and open the other. Close one to the world and all that is therein, and open the other to the hallowed beauty of the Beloved."
